We are now looking for an experienced Site Manager for Land to a comprehensive and socially important assignment at the Swedish Transport Administration within the Locks program in the Trollhätte Canal. The Trollhätte Canal constitutes the fairway between the North Sea and Lake Vänern and is a central part of Sweden's transport system. The existing locks in Lilla Edet, Trollhättan, and Vänersborg were built in the early 1900s and have reached the end of their technical lifespan.

Therefore, the Swedish Transport Administration is carrying out a long-term infrastructure project where the locks will be replaced with new, modern facilities in new locations, in close collaboration with the Swedish Maritime Administration.

As a Site Manager for Land, you will contribute your experience and expertise throughout the project's lifecycle – from design and procurement to implementation and follow-up. The assignment involves close collaboration with contractors and other stakeholders within the client organization.

Your tasks will include, among others:

  • Support to contract management in production and land-related issues
  • Active participation in problem-solving during ongoing production
  • Participation in work meetings, technical meetings, and coordination with contractors
  • Review of work preparations and control plans
  • Follow-up of progress, quality, work environment, and environment
  • Participation in safety rounds, inspections, and assessments
  • Ensuring the handling and follow-up of deviations
  • Follow-up on the resolution of inspection remarks
  • Review and follow-up of quality and relationship documentation
  • Support in the work with notifications and change management
  • Follow-up of contractor costs, diaries, and invoicing
  • Participation in design work and procurement, including related to mass handling
  • Contribute to risk management and feedback within the project

Mandatory requirements

All requirements must be clearly stated in the CV, including periods, assignments, scope, and responsibilities.

  1. Degree from a technical university or a combination of education and work experience that the Swedish Transport Administration deems equivalent in the field of land technology.
  2. Good knowledge and experience of AMA Construction.
  3. In the last fifteen years, the consultant must have worked at least a total of three years in the role of Site Manager for Land in construction projects within infrastructure that involve excavation and transportation of clay materials to a total amount of over 50,000 m3 where the clay to be removed from the work area is both stackable and non-stackable.
  4. In the last fifteen years, the consultant must have worked at least a total of three years with tasks in construction projects within infrastructure that involve the execution of mixing piles to a scope of 30,000 meters.
  5. The consultant must have experience in the role of Site Manager for Land in construction projects within infrastructure where tasks included managing risks in work areas that may arise when the project is carried out in landslide-sensitive areas consisting of high-sensitive clay and quick clay. Tasks may include work preparations and handling of restrictions in the work area, and the consultant must have held a role equivalent to a full-time position for three years in the last fifteen years. At least one reference is required to verify experience.

Assignment information

The assignment is to start no later than May 1, 2026, until April 30, 2028, provided that the contract has come into effect.

Option: The client has the unilateral option to extend the contract with existing contractual terms for an additional 1+1+1+1+1 year.

Scope: Estimated occupancy rate for the assignment is 75% during 2026 and 90-100% during the years 2027-2032 of annual working time for one (1) resource consultant. Annual working time is defined as 1,700 hours.

The stationing location for the resource consultant is in Gothenburg during 2026. In the first half of 2027, the stationing location will move to the construction office in Lilla Edet. This assignment requires physical presence at the Swedish Transport Administration's office in Gothenburg (later Lilla Edet) every working day based on the current occupancy rate.
